Established over 120 years ago in Brakel, Germany, FSB originally manufactured furniture fittings. In 1910 they produced their first door hardware, and since then have become one of the leading manufacturers of architectural hardware in Europe. They currently produce over 10,000 products in aluminum, stainless steel and brass.
FSB uses the most advanced automated production technology in the industry; their aluminum anodizing process is the most sophisticated and environmentally friendly in the world. FSB has accepted the challenge of meeting the highest standards in both quality and environmentalism within the industry. They have developed technology to use rain water in the anodizing process, for example, with less than one percent loss. They use natural salts as sealants rather than toxic chemicals.
The coating on FSB product is three to ten times as thick as the typical chrome plating found in other manufacturers' products. They have invested tens of millions of dollars in this effort, which has culminated with the award of both ISO 9000 and ISO 14001 certification. FSB's North American Distribution Center, offering all of the incredible designs FSB is known for world wide, supplies products combining the beauty of European design with American lock technology, from ANSI Standard (Grade One) through-bolted, UL listed (3 hour) mortise lock. They also offer UL listed (3 hour) tubular latches.
