Glacier Window and Door Portland Oregon

For nearly 50 years, Fleetwood USA has manufactured custom aluminum windows and doors for residential and light commercial use. Built in accordance with the “better, not cheaper” philosophy, buyers choose Fleetwood because their dedication to high standards has made them a leader in the modern style luxury home market.

From huge sliding door panels and automated pocket doors with hidden thresholds, to window walls of multi-sliding panels, Fleetwood offers products for the entire home. Many of the windows and doors they fabricate incorporate a thermal break into the aluminum extrusion. This barrier minimizes heat and cold transmission, as well as condensation, affording thermal performance on par with fenestration products made from other materials.

One of the unique traits of aluminum is its' ability to take a variety of finishes. If properly maintained, these finishes will last a lifetime. Fleetwood offers two standard finishes, Class I clear and Class I dark bronze anodized. Anodizing is a chemical process that makes the aluminum surface harder and thicker. Each extrusion is electrically charged while submerged in acid, which changes aluminum oxide to aluminum hydrate. Customers should expect slight shade variations in anodized finishes, so if an exact color match is desired, Kynar500 paint is offered as well.

For years, a hallmark of the Fleetwood brand has been their sliding doors. They maintain their reputation for having the best rolling doors on the market through constant in-house development and fabrication. Mammoth 3" diameter wheels, stainless steel carriages and authentic Swiss bearings add up to an end product requiring 1-3 pounds of force to move a 300 pound sliding panel. Testing concludes a Fleetwood sliding door opened and closed an average of 10 times a day will function for 160 years.

It is the small details that set Fleetwood apart. The corner construction on their Westwood 250 series of window is unmatched in the industry. Hydraulically pressed and then welded, these windows are capable of hitting sizes far surpassing that of the competition. Fleetwood's glazing system relies on a compression fit, avoiding the use of glazing tapes and sealants that can discolor or breakdown over time.
